Weekend Farmers Market Expands to Year-Round Schedule
The Chesterfield Farmers Market, a Saturday morning staple at the county fairgrounds since 2019, will begin operating year-round starting in March, organizers announced Wednesday.
The expansion comes after two consecutive years of record attendance, with over 3,000 visitors on peak summer weekends. During winter months, the market will move indoors to the fairgrounds exhibition hall.
"Our vendors have been asking for this for years," said market director Tomoko Sato. "The demand from the community is there, and we finally have the infrastructure to support it."
The winter market will feature 30 vendors, including local produce growers using greenhouse farming, artisan bakers, and craft makers. Hot food vendors will also join the lineup for the first time.
